Process to Apply for a UK Student Visa
Secure Your CAS Letter
It is essential that you have Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) before applying for a Visa. CAS is a kind of acceptance letter issued by universities after getting admission. This letter includes a unique reference number that is essential for your visa application.
2. Meet the Financial Requirements
- Tuition Fees: You need to show you can pay for the first year of your course.
- Living Costs:
- If studying in London: £1,334 per month (for up to 9 months)
- If studying outside London: £1,023 per month (for up to 9 months)
- If studying in London: £1,334 per month (for up to 9 months)
The money must be in your (or your parents) personal bank account for a continuous period of 28 days. Also the bank statement you provide should not be older than 31 days at the time of applying.
Apply Online for the Visa
Visit the official UK visa portal: www.gov.uk/student-visa
Fill in the Student Visa application form which includes:
- Personal details
- CAS number
- Course information
- Financial documents
Pay the Fees
You need to pay:
- Visa application fee: £490
- IHS (Immigration Health Surcharge): £776 per year (gives access to the UK’s NHS)
Payment is done online via card during application submission.
Book a Biometrics Appointment (VAC)
- Book an appointment at a UK Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Pakistan (Islamabad or Karachi)
- Visit the center for biometrics (fingerprints and photo)
Prepare and Upload Required Documents
