A SUPARCO spokesperson also stated that the time gap between sunset and moonset at Pakistan’s coastal areas will be around 75 minutes. This gap will make the condition favourable for the moon to be visible.
If the moon is sighted on Wednesday then the sacred day of Youm-e-Ashura (10th Muharram) will fall on Saturday, July 6.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan will hold a meeting on Thursday evening to confirm the moon sighting Muharram ul Haram 1447 Hijri. Zonal committees across the country will also meet at their respective locations to observe the crescent.
