ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has unveiled now the full plan relating to this year’s Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) so as to clear the air for dental and medical students aspiring. After they confirmed the much-awaited exam date, the announcement outlines the registration process, updated fee, plus syllabus and paper format changes.
MDCAT 2025 Test Date
According to the council, MDCAT will be held on October 5, 2025. Centres across the country hold the exams.
Regular Registration: It opens August 8 and runs until August 25, in 2025.
Late Registration: Available from August 26 to September 1 for an added late fee.
In order to avoid any technical glitches as well as any last-minute stress, officials have gone on to encourage students for the completion of the process early.
MDCAT 2025 Registration Fee
The fee for the exam for this session is PKR 9,000. That is PKR 1,000 higher than the fee from last year. PMDC explained that it needed to adjust itself in order to meet expenses for securing and providing logistics to smoothly administer the test.
MDCAT 2025 Revised Syllabus & Paper Pattern
PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj explained that the 2025 test will be based on five subjects:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- English
- Logical Reasoning
The paper will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and students will have three hours to complete it. There will be no negative marking.
The difficulty level of questions will be divided into:
- 15% Easy
- 70% Moderate
- 15% Difficult
Passing Marks
- Medical colleges: Minimum 55% marks required
- Dental colleges: Minimum 50% marks required
PMDC has also started building a question bank to make the test fair and standardised. Academic experts helped in preparing the updated syllabus. Educational boards were also consulted during its preparation phase.
