Raast is first instant payment system of Pakistan launched by the State Bank of Pakistan. It is designed to make digital transactions fast, easy and free of charge. You can think of it as a digital road for your money to travel quickly from one bank account to another safely and in real time.
What is a Raast ID?
A Raast ID is a simple name that is linked to your bank account. Instead of giving your full bank account number to someone you can just give them your Raast ID and they can send you money instantly.
Your mobile number is used as your Raast ID in most of cases. That means people can send you money just by entering your phone number.
How to Create Your Raast ID?
Creating a Raast ID is easy. Here how you can do it:
Login to Your Bank App or Internet Banking
Almost all major Pakistani banks support Raast (e.g., HBL, UBL, Meezan Bank, JazzCash, etc.).
Look for the Raast Option
In your app menu find the option that says Raast ID Registration or Raast ID Setup.
Link Your Mobile Number
Choose the bank account you want to link and enter your mobile number (which becomes your Raast ID).
Confirm and Register
Follow the steps shown on your screen. Once confirmed your Raast ID will be active.
Now people can send money to you using your mobile number only.
Can You Change Your Raast ID?
Yes you can. If you want to link your Raast ID to a different bank account you can unregister your current Raast ID and re-register it with a new account through your bank app.

Businesses and freelancers for receiving payments
Government departments (e.g. for paying salaries or subsidies)
