The Afghan interim government has now officially upgraded its diplomat to Pakistan as ambassador.
This move came after Pakistan recently promoted its own top diplomat in Kabul to the rank of ambassador.
Afghanistan Foreign Ministry has stated that this step will help strengthen cooperation between the two neighboring countries in different areas.
The Afghan ministry posted on X that it welcomes the decision of Pakistan to upgrade its mission in Kabul to the ambassador level.

Additionally Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi is expected to visit Pakistan soon to discuss matters further.
Pakistan becomes the fourth country after China, the UAE and Uzbekistan to recognize a Taliban appointed ambassador.
