One of the old names of Pakistani drama industry, Veteran actor Ayesha Khan has passed away in Karachi at the age of 76. Police sources have stated that her body was found dead at her apartment in Gulshan e Iqbal area of Karachi.
It is also reported that she was living alone and it appears that she passed away a few days earlier. There are different reports, few are mentioning that her neighbours informed Police after noticing foul smell while few said that any visitor tried to approach her but found unresponsive and informed Police. Police personnel stated that they are waiting for her son to arrive in Karachi before performing a post mortem.
Ayesha Khan was born in 1948 and became a well known face of Pakistani drama industry. She appeared in several classical dramas Afshan, Aroosa, Family 93, Shaam Se Pehle اور Bandhan. She became very famous for her acting in the drama Afshan in which she played a role of a woman who was left behind at the time of partition.
Many celebrities from the Pakistani drama industry such as Khaled Anam اور Adnan Siddique have shared news of her death on their social media profiles. They praised her for her graceful career in the drama industry and made dua for her forgiveness.
