Why Do You Need Domicile?
You need a domicile certificate to:

It proves that you belong to a certain place in Pakistan — for example, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, etc.
How to Apply for Domicile
- Get the form
You can get the domicile form from the DC office or E-Khidmat center. Some places have it online. - Fill the form
Write your name, CNIC number, father’s name, permanent address, etc. - Attach documents
Attach all the required documents with the form. - Submit the form
Submit it to the DC office or e-Khidmat center. They’ll give you a receipt. - Wait for verification
Your details will be checked — sometimes they may call you or ask for more info. - Get your certificate
It usually takes 7 to 10 working days. You’ll get a message or call when it’s ready.

If you live in Punjab, you can apply online using the e-Khidmat Portal. Here’s how:

- Choose an appointment time at a nearby service center

Important Points for Domicile
- A domicile certificate is valid for life
- You can only have one domicile at a time
- Giving false information can cause serious problems
- If you move permanently to another province, you’ll need to cancel your old domicile first
