Raj Kumar Thapa, a senior Jammu and Kashmir officer along with multiple civilians killed during Pakistan’s air strike attack over India’s Rajouri at night. Amid intense artillery firing, officers on duty were stationed to retaliate attacks which took the lives of civilians too.
The Additional District Development Commissioner Raj Kumar Thapa was at his house where the Pakistan shelling landed, injuring him. The 55 year old officer passed away on Saturday morning after sustaining fatal injuries.
The deaths resulting from Pakistan shelling in Jammu and Kashmir has increased to 5 with a person identified as Zakir Hussain whose house was also attacked and shelled. India also revealed hitting 9 Terrorist camps on the first day while PAF has also suffered.
“Devastating news from Rajouri. We have lost a dedicated officer of the J&K Administration Services. Just yesterday he was accompanying the Deputy CM around the district & attended the online meeting I chaired. Today the residence of the officer was hit by Pak shelling as they targeted Rajouri town killing our Additional District Development Commissioner Sh Raj Kumar Thappa. I’ve no words to express my shock & sadness at this terrible loss of life. May his soul rest in peace,” read Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Now after four days of continuous attacks, India and Pakistan have agreed for a ceasefire that was announced by United States President Donald Trump. The US mediated between the nations with India sent out a statement announcing the Ceasefire after also stating that any acts of terror from Pakistan will lead to an Act of War.
