دی National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has made important updates to its rules for identity documents related to families and children in Pakistan.
B-Form No Longer Accepted for Passports
One of the major changes is that NADRA will no longer accept the B-Form when applying for a child’s passport. Instead, parents must now get a Child Registration Certificate (CRC).
FRC Now Has Legal Power
Another major update is about the Family Registration Certificate (FRC). Previously, it was mainly used as a family record. But now, NADRA has given it legal status, which means it can be used in important matters like:
- Inheritance issues
- Court cases
- Legal verification
This makes the FRC more useful than ever before.
New Format Covers All Types of Families
NADRA has also updated the format of the FRC. It now includes different types of family structures, such as:
- Parents and their children
- Husbands and wives with kids
- Men with multiple marriages (details of each marriage will be listed separately)
This helps clear up any confusion that might come from missing or unclear family details.
Types of Family Links
The new rules define families in three types:
- Alpha – by birth
- Beta – by marriage
- Gamma – by adoption
In case a family member is missing from your NADRA records, you can get their details added. And if there’s any error in the existing info, you can have it fixed by visiting NADRA or using their mobile app.
New Verification Required for FRC
Now, people applying for FRCs will also need to give an assurance that the information they’ve submitted is true and accurate. NADRA will only issue an FRC based on the data in its system.
