Uzbekistan Airways has announced that it will start direct flights between Tashkent and Islamabad from June 14, 2025.
Official sources have stated that these flights will operate on every Saturday between both countries.
This step is part of a broader regional plan to improve connectivity and cooperation.
Both countries hope that there will be an increase in tourism and trade with the help of this direct route. This will also help to increase cultural exchange between two friendly nations. This direct contact also supports the Central and South Asia Connectivity Initiative.
Uzbekistan airways is already operating biweekly flights to Lahore on Wednesday and Friday. A new route to Islamabad now will make travel more easier for students, traders and official delegations.
Different industries like textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, logistics and tourism will also benefit from it. This will also help to open new doors for investors to work on different developmental projects between two regions.
The flights will help promote tourism besides trade. Pakistani travelers can now more easily visit famous Uzbek cities like Samarkand, Bukhara اور Khiva which are known for their Silk Road history. On the other hand Uzbek tourists can explore beautiful mountains and historic places of Pakistan.
