The Punjab government has gone on record to extend its laptop program to the students of the private universities also. The decision was announced on the International Day of Education by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz who declared that education is a fundamental right of all students.
So far, free laptops were provided to the public sector students of universities. This new move will also mean that the scheme will be enjoyed by the students of the private universities and they will have easier access to digital learning tools.
Maryam Nawaz Expands Laptop Program in Punjab
During the discussion of the initiative, the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz mentioned that the government would like to help students in all sectors. She has also stated that technology is a significant aspect of contemporary education and the supply of laptops to students contributes to the enhancement of their learning and research capabilities.
The relocation is set to ensure a digital inclusion and ease of access of higher education among students in Punjab.
Who Can Apply for Punjab Laptop Scheme?
Students in the privately run universities with a minimum of 65 percent marks have an option of getting a free laptop under the new program.
The objective is to assist the working students to keep on with their studies in a better digital capacity and enhance the academic results at the university and college.
