The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched an unprecedented agricultural project, Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar (My Field, My Livelihood) to give landless farmers throughout the Punjab province more power. She also announced a complete development package to the district, such as the introduction of new medical, law and agriculture colleges, to a very large population at Mianwali.
“Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” Scheme Details
The Chief Minister has vowed to roll out the Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar program next week with a view to offering poor farmers and unemployed young people sustainable livelihoods. In this program, 300,000 acres of state-owned farmland will be given to the deserving landless farmers. Every qualified beneficiary will be given 3 to 5 acres of land under a 25-year lease to enable the beneficiaries to have agricultural stability in the long run.
Furthermore, the beneficiaries shall receive Kisan Cards that will enable the beneficiaries to obtain subsidized basic farming inputs such as seeds, fertilizer and pesticides among others. The general objective of the program is to empower the production of local food and to transform the agricultural sector to become a permanent source of self-employment.
Ramadan Relief Package 2026
After that, the Chief Minister talked about the future Ramadan Relief Package 2026.
Cash Assistance: In Punjab, close to 4 million deserving families will receive 10,000 in a cash grant one time.
Delivery: The help will be given publicly through banking and the Nigehban Card system.
