The Sindh education authorities have formally endorsed the school and college holiday programme of the province in the new academic year. This was made at a high-level Steering Committee meeting led by Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah in which the wider 2026-27 academic calendar was also officially approved.

Primary and Middle School Promotions
The education committee has given the green light to the automatic promotion of students in the first three grades and this has brought a huge sigh of relief among both the parents and the little people. Rather than putting these young children under the stress of undergoing formal written exams, schools will just advance them to the next learning class, and more emphasis will be directed to their natural learning process as opposed to the end-of-year testing. Nevertheless, the situation will remain business as usual among the older children in primary and middle school. Their class four and right to the eight students will continue to take their standard annual examinations around the start of March because assessing their academic performance via standard assessment is an important milestone before they move to the upper grades.
