In the year 2026, the lowest fitrana price will be fixed at 300 per person which will be computed based on the price of wheat. Those blessed with more financial stability are, however, advised to pay by the prices of barley, dates or raisins so as to maximize their reward and benefit the needy in a better way.

Who is Obligated to Pay Fitrana?
Sadqa-e-Fitr is obligatory on all Muslims, who have the wealth of at least Nisab of Zakat (surplus wealth above the basic needs, amounts). The Fitrana is paid by the head of the household on behalf of himself and all his dependents, that is, a spouse and offspring.
When is the Best Time to Pay Fitrana?
Fitrana is mainly aimed at allowing the poor and the needy to share the Eid joy. Thus, it is strongly advisable to compensate for it in the course of Ramadan or prior to the Eid ul Fitr prayer. When an individual does not pay it prior to the Eid prayer, then it is a debt to that person, but that should be paid as soon as possible, although the reward might be less than the reward of regular charity.
