To ensure smooth sailing of the historic diplomatic summit underway in the capital, the Government of Pakistan has officially declared a visa-on-arrival facility to all the international delegates and journalists attending the Islamabad Talks 2026.
The Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, announced it through social media where he posted the official notification. The policy is aimed at removing entry barriers to participants in each of the participating countries so that the high standard event continues without any logistical delays.
Seamless Entry for Media and Diplomats
As per the official directive, the Pakistani government has given clear guidelines to international airlines as well as domestic immigration authorities to facilitate smooth migration of the visitors.
Instruction to Airlines: All airlines have been instructed to permit representatives of the delegation and accredited media representatives to board even without a pre-arranged visa.
Immigration Arrangement: Immigration desks of the leading airports in Pakistan have been heightened to grant visas right after the arrival of the participants.
The relocation is to optimize international involvement and make sure that the international media can report the diplomacy process as it happens.

High-Level Diplomatic Context
The Islamabad Talks 2026 have put Pakistan in a central position in international relations especially with the city acting as a pivotal point of talks between the United States and Iran. As a two-week ceasefire is now underway, the coming of high-profile delegations, such as US Vice President JD Vance and other international observers, is in urgent need of the quick administrative support this visa policy offers.
The government officials stressed that even though the entry process is being expedited, all the required security and accreditation checks will be conducted at the entry point to ensure the integrity of the summit.
