The Pakistan women national football team did not merely enter the field to make their FIFA Series 2026 debut but they wrote new entries in the record books. The Green Shirts destroyed the Turks and Caicos Islands in a clinical show of attacking football in Cote d Ivoire with an 8-0 win, the biggest margin in the history of Pakistani international football.
Although the team was enjoying a huge victory, the media light was the brightest on star forward Nadia Khan, who technically became a national legend.
Nadia Khan Surpasses Hajra Khan
At the 57th minute of the game, the mood was changed to history, not celebration. Nadia Khan scored the back of the net, her ninth goal in Pakistan national women football history, becoming the all-time leading goal scorer of the Pakistan women national football team.
She became the first woman to break the long history of previous captain Hajra Khan with this strike. Hajra, who was the first in the country to make a living by playing soccer, was the star during a long period of more than 10 years. The scene when Nadia makes her goal the first among women beating the male goalkeeper is a passing-of-the-torch moment, which will put women football in the country in a new stage.
Nadia Khan is now the all time leading goal scorer for Pakistan women's football team. She surpassed Hajra Khan's record with 57th minute goal against Turks & Caicos Islands in FIFA series last night. pic.twitter.com/uZ9zPOInBA

A Night of Records: The 8-0 Rout
Pakistan has now a new standard of 8-0. This performance was better than the previous record 7-0 against the Maldives in September 2022.
The more remarkable aspect of this is that this was the first occasion ever that Pakistan had attended a FIFA event. The team was so calm and there was no sign of nerves despite the stakes and international level, the pace of the play was restrained from the first whistle till the very last strike.

The Road Ahead in the FIFA Series 2026
Pakistan has sent a clear message to the rest of the tournament participants. With such an impressive opening to the international stage, which they hardly have, the squad has greatly enhanced its confidence and potential to increase its global ranking.
Nevertheless, the battle is not finished. The remaining series of Pakistan consists of:
April 12: vs. Mauritania
April 16: vs. Cote d’Ivoire (Hosts)
The team is looking forward to their next confrontation but the emphasis is on keeping this momentum. In a team led by Nadia Khan and a hungry young team behind her, Pakistan women football is finally getting heard in the international arena.
