The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has officially announced the schedule for the first phase of its 2026 annual examinations, confirming that the exams will commence on April 29, 2026.
This announcement provides clarity to thousands of students across the city following a period of technical transitions within the Karachi education boards.
Karachi Board Admit Card Distribution for Private Candidates

What is Karachi Board’s Procedure for Missing Admit Cards?
The applicants who fail to get their admit cards by April 25 should rather not panic. The BIEK has established a strict procedure of receiving duplicates:
Collection Date: The board office will have duplicate cards in the applicable sections available beginning April 27.
Necessary Documents: Applicants should carry with them the examination form and receipt of fee, original registration card (or evidence of registration) and copy of matriculation marks sheet.

The Digital Transition Challenges
The BIEK’s announcement comes on the heels of schedule revisions by the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK). The SSC (Matric) examinations which were scheduled to begin on April 7 were earlier on moved to April 10.
This was caused by technical challenges in the shift of the board system since it was on a manual system, which was changed to a digital system. IT officials claim that the software was overloaded with the huge amount of student information, which led to temporary disruption. This has since been sorted out and the matriculation exams are now running in the new schedule.
