Pakistani consumers are no longer purchasing vehicles based solely on external aesthetics; they also want to be assured of their vehicle’s functionality, efficiency and ruggedness. Taking this into account, Chery has introduced its game-changing Tiggo V at the Auto China 2026. The Tiggo V is not just an SUV; it’s a modular marvel that has the potential to change our perception of family and commercial vehicles in Pakistan.
The Tiggo V is no ordinary crossover. Described as a “Multi-Purpose SUV“, it is the commercialized form of the futuristic T1TP concept. Its most notable feature is its versatility. It is a 7-seater by default but then can be quickly modified into a cargo or even a pickup configuration. In Pakistan, where cars are used for a variety of purposes within the family and for business, this is a big plus.

Performance and Hybrid Efficiency: Solving the Fuel Crisis
Given the increasing petrol prices in Pakistan, it’s worth looking at the engine of the Tiggo V. Chery has stated that the Chery International models will come in two main variants:
Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV): The game-changer model is the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with a fuel consumption of around 6.0 liters per 100 km (around 16.6 km/l).
Regular Petrol: For those who prefer conventional combustion engines, the petrol version has a fuel consumption of 7.84 liters per 100 km (roughly 12.7 km/l).
The Tiggo V is not only designed for fuel economy, but the “real” Pakistan. The 220 mm ground clearance will allow it to tackle broken roads and high speed-breakers. Its water-wading ability of up to 700 mm (in case of the hybrid) also makes it a good choice for monsoon season in cities such Lahore and Karachi.
Will the Tiggo V Arrive in Pakistan?
Although Chery’s Pakistani partners have yet to announce the official release of the Chery Tiggo V Pakistan Launch 2026, all signs point to a promising market. Chery has been gaining momentum with the Engineering Development Board (EDB) policies, which are supportive of hybrid and modular vehicles. A source has indicated that with the crossover market getting increasingly competitive, Chery is considering the Tiggo V as a niche player.
