The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has officially published the start of Phase-I/2026 for General Recruitment (GR) exams. This phase comprises different professions ranging from Grade 16 to 19 in various federal ministries. Keeping abreast with the latest logistics is as important as studying for the exam when it comes to preparing for a job in the government.
Understanding the FPSC Phase-I 2026 Schedule
Mainly, the 2026 Phase-I exams will be of screening tests and descriptive exams for which advertisements were released in late 2025. The FPSC testing is centralized and candidates are sent to different test centers located in major cities of Pakistan such as Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Multan and Quetta.
Downloading Your Admission Certificate
FPSC no longer dispatches hard copies of roll number slips via postal services. The candidates need to retrieve their Admission Certificates online. Follow these steps:
Go to the Official Website: Go to the Official Portal of FPSC.
To access the GR Section, go to the home page and click on the “Exams” or “Admission Certificates” tab.
Now click on Credentials: You will be asked to enter your CNIC Number (no dashes).
Select Your Post: In case you applied for many posts, you’ll be able to select the post from which you would like to download the certificate.
Print and Save: Be sure to have the ability to print and save a copy. Just to be on the safe side, save a copy of the PDF to your mobile or cloud storage.
New Standard Timings for 2026 Examinations
The Commission has instituted more stringent reporting periods to avoid malpractice and transparency should be observed. Candidates should follow the following time schedule:

Essential Warning: 30 minutes before the start of the paper, the doors of the examination centre will close. No late-comers are welcome.
Mandatory Checklist for Exam Day
You must carry the following items to the examination hall:
Original CNIC: Copies or digital versions on phones are not accepted.
Original Treasury Receipt (Challan): You must present the stamped bank copy of the fee you paid at the time of application.
Printed Admission Certificate: Make sure your photo is legible on the print.
Stationery: Take your own blue or black ball points, and a clipboard.
