A new opportunity for young agricultural graduates has been created in this province of Punjab. The Punjab Agriculture Internship Program was officially launched by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, and the Department of Agriculture. The programme is a high impact programme with an objective to recruit 1500 qualified agriculture professionals and provide them with hands-on training at the field level along with a monthly stipend of Rs. 70,000. This comprehensive guide is for people who have recently finished an agricultural sciences degree and are looking to make an impact in the professional world with a well-paid opportunity.

What is the Eligibility Criteria for the Punjab Agriculture Internship Program?

The Department of Agriculture Punjab has set strict eligibility criteria to ensure transparency and prioritize the most deserving candidates. The candidates are required to meet the following condition to be eligible in the application process for the Rs. 70,000 monthly stipend:

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Degree or four years professional qualification from any recognized institution by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

Age Limit: The maximum permissible age for applicants is 27 years on the official closing date of the application window.

Domicile Requirement: Applicants must possess a valid resident domicile of Punjab. Because recruitment is structured according to distinct district-wise quotas, you can only apply within your home district.

Exclusion Policy: Any agricultural graduate who has previously benefited from or completed an internship program funded by the Government of Punjab is strictly ineligible.

Key Features and Structural Benefits of Punjab Agriculture Internship Program

The primary vision behind this internship is to deploy fresh, skilled human resources into rural extension networks. This structure allows interns to learn while providing data-backed advisory services to local farmers.

Step-by-Step Application Process for the Punjab Agriculture Internship Program

The recruitment framework follows a traditional, verified manual processing route. Follow these sequential steps carefully to ensure your application package is accepted:

    1. Download the Official Application Form

Navigate to the web portal of the Department of Agriculture Punjab at agripunjab.gov.pk. Head to the downloads section to find the dedicated application form for the agriculture internship. If you cannot access the website, physical copies of the form are available at the regional offices of the Deputy Director of Agriculture (Extension) or Assistant Director of Agriculture.

    2. Prepare the Documentation Package

Accurately fill out the application form using capital block letters to avoid mistakes. Gather and attach attested photocopies of your core credentials, which must include:

Final HEC-recognized degree or official academic transcript

    Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC)

    District Domicile Certificate

Two recent passport-sized photographs with a blue background

    3. Submit to Your Local District Office

Place the completed form and attested documents inside a secure envelope. Deliver the package either in person (by hand) or via registered courier services directly to the office of the Deputy Director of Agriculture (Extension) in your respective home district. Applications sent to the central Lahore headquarters or received after the official deadline will be automatically rejected.

Selection Criteria and Future Career Outlook

Applications will be audited by a special committee at district level after the application deadline. Short-listed candidates will be called for a face-to-face interview (which is mandatory). The selection matrix is tilted towards academic performance (CGPA/Percentage) and professional knowledge while in the interview.

Successful interns will undergo an intensive orientation program covering modern farming techniques, digital soil testing, crop pest surveillance, and community field networking. Beyond the attractive Rs. 70,000 monthly stipend, the hands-on experience and official government certification earned upon completion will give you a significant competitive edge when applying for permanent corporate roles or public service positions within Pakistan’s expanding agricultural sector.
