There is another reason international tourists are putting Dubai on their Itineraries: food.

If ‘Jurassic Park’ is a modern-day classic movie, so is Dubai in the field of tourism. In 2026, Dubai is adored by millions of locals and tourists alike for its skyline, luxury hotels and resorts, desert landscapes, and record-breaking attractions. But there is also another factor that has been encouraging more and more tourists to put Dubai on their bucket list: food. Let’s not call it just food, though. Dubai is a melting pot of cultures and restaurants here leave no stone unturned to give you the most authentic representation of both regional and international cuisines. No exaggeration here.

Dining in Dubai is no longer simply something tourists do as part of sightseeing stops. People from across the globe are coming to the city in high numbers to get their hands on something delicious. From Baklava and the OG Dubai Chocolate to MICHELIN Star dining and a roadside cup of Karak Chai, you can have varied experiences at eateries and restaurants in Dubai and all these are surely going to remain as a lasting piece of memory in your minds. In this brief guide, let’s explore the role of food in Dubai tourism and all that the future holds for the culinary traditions of this city.

Nothing Captures Dubai’s Food Culture Better Than Karak Chai

Only a handful of items capture Dubai’s food culture as prominently as Karak Chai. Featuring black tea, milk and spices in lead roles, this drink is a familiar part of daily life in the Emirate. For tourists, Karak Chai provides a relatively simpler method to experience the everyday side of Dubai and to live like a local does. You can have it in the morning near Dubai Creek, in the afternoon in Dubai Marina, or in the evening hours near Burj Khalifa. Karak Chai is also a great representation of one more thing: that Dubai offers both luxury and super affordable experiences to its guests.

MICHELIN Star Fine Dining Turning Dinner Into Experiences

Fine dining occupies the other end of the spectrum. There are innumerable fine dining restaurants in Dubai, located across the Emirate. You can find them in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, JBR, JLT, near Burj Khalifa area, DIFC and Bur Dubai, too. Basically, these are located in different neighbourhoods, though some areas may have more fine dining spots than others. MICHELIN Star restaurants occupy a significant part of the list of luxury restaurants in Dubai and get a lot of attention from international tourists year-round. You may need to splurge on most occasions. But food is not the only part of such restaurants. These spots also sell experiences that are unique.

Overall, it is not going to be incorrect to say here that restaurants in Dubai are becoming destinations themselves. Dubai is quite great at turning ordinary activities into reasons to plan trips. Therefore, it looks like food is going to be the next big pull factor for the city’s tourism scene. From Karak Chai providing familiarity and affordability to fine dining restaurants ensuring a luxurious experience, the dining landscape of Dubai is changing but for the better. In the future, you can expect the city to do much better.
