Pakistani climber Sajid Ali Sadpara has made the country proud once again by climbing the world’s 7th highest mountain Dhaulagiri in Nepal. The height of this mountain is 8167 meters and it is regarded as one of the toughest and most dangerous ascents. Sajid Ali Sadpara has accomplished it without using bottled oxygen and porter support.
Sajid had arrived at the base camp of Dhaulagiri on April 6, 2025 and began preparations for climbing. He climbed first to Camp 3 and then returned to rest.On May 4, he and three other Pakistani climbers officially began their summit expedition. They had already fixed ropes up to a height of 8,050 meters. On Friday evening Sajid started his final push from Camp IV at 6:15 PM. After a tough night of climbing, he reached the summit at around 9:35 AM on Saturday.
According to the Alpine Club of Pakistan, this is Sajid ninth 8,000-meter peak and all climbed without using any supplemental oxygen. This is a very rare achievement in the world of mountaineering especially at such a young age. His climbing team Seven Summit Treks from Nepal and Sabroso Pakistan also confirmed that it was the first successful climb of Dhaulagiri in the Spring 2025 season.
He has also participated in tough rescue missions and set records like climbing Gasherbrum I and II within just 3 days and 18 hours also without oxygen. Sajid has shown the world that Pakistani climbers are brave, skilled and full of determination.
