Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir recently met with Bilal Bin Saqib who is the CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) at General Headquarters (GHQ). The focus of the meeting was on how Pakistan can use modern technologies like blockchain, cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen the economy of country and create more opportunities for young people.
Bilal Bin Saqib shared the vision of the PCC by explaining that the youth of Pakistan are ready to take part in the global digital world. He said that the council was created because the younger generation wants to be involved in the future of tech, finance and innovation. He also updated the Army Chief General Asim Munir on the recent work of council including meetings with top international figures like Binance founder Changpeng Zhao and a delegation from World Liberty Financial (WLF). Bilal also talked about the ongoing efforts to develop proper crypto regulations in Pakistan and the importance of preparing a skilled digital workforce.
World Liberty Financial which is a major decentralized finance (DeFi) platform supported by former U.S. President Donald Trump and his family signed an important agreement with the Pakistan Crypto Council. A delegation from WLF which included Zachary Folkman, Chase Herro, and Zachary Witkoff (son of Steve Witkoff, the U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East) visited Pakistan and met with key government officials including the Prime Minister, COAS, Deputy Prime Minister and Ministers of Defence and Information.
This partnership shows increasing interest of Pakistan in becoming a leader in the digital finance world. According to a statement President Trump and his sons Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Barron Trump fully support the WLF platform.
