Balochistan Board has announced the date of matriculation examinations once per year. The Board Matric Exams 2026 will begin in the province on February 10, 2026, following the recent announcement.
The provincial government has declared a state of emergency in the issue of examination conduct in conjunction with the announcement date and has led to the unprecedented measures against the threat of cheating (booti mafia).
The Chief Minister, Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti has taken a very tough stand towards examination cheating. Recently, he has directed authorities to adopt zero-tolerance to cheating and malpractices.
The Chief Minister indicated that there would be no mercy during the examination process, since fair examinations are the only way of ensuring the future of the youths in the province.
Balochistan Board Monitoring Mechanism
To ensure transparency, a joint monitoring system has been established involving multiple state departments. For the first time, the responsibility for fair conduct will be shared among:
- The Police: To provide security and prevent external interference at exam centers.
- Deputy Commissioners (DCs): To oversee administrative logistics and order.
- Education Department: To manage the academic integrity of the papers.
These departments will jointly monitor examination centers to guarantee a transparent and fair system, eliminating the corruption that has plagued the sector in previous years.
Balochistan Board Instructions for Students
Students that show up to take the matriculation exams starting February 10 are encouraged to:
Carry their original roll number slips.
Do not carry with you banned materials( mobile phones, notes) to the exams hall.
Report to the centers much earlier than the actual time to overcome security checks.
The government has now reiterated its intentions to do away with corruption within the education sector and these exams have served as a demonstration case to its reform agenda.
