Walt Disney Company has declared establishment of a new enterprise wide marketing and brand position and gave Pakistan-born executive Asad Ayaz the first-ever Chief Marketing and Brand Officer. This new job qualifies him as one of the best leaders of the global entertainment giant.
Asad Ayaz Early Life and Background
Asad Ayaz was a son of a high-ranking officer in the Pakistan Air Force, born in 1978 in Pakistan. He was partly brought up in the Middle East when his father was the ambassador of Pakistan in Syria and Lebanon. He and his family immigrated to the United States later as teenagers.
Ayaz became interested in popular culture early, having been influenced by films and TV shows such as Batman Returns, The Simpsons and Thelma and Louise. He attended Bennington College and subsequently got himself a masters degree in economics at the University of Southern California where he initially got involved in the entertainment industry.
Asad Ayaz Job Description and Duties at Disney
Ayaz will be the head of marketing and brand strategy in the Disney studios, streaming service, theme parks, and consumer products in his new position. He will report to the CEO Bob Iger and collaborate with leaders of various business segments of Disney to maintain the brand consistency and improve consumer interaction all around the world.
Ayaz has been with Disney for more than 20 years and most recently he was the president of marketing at Disney Studios and is running worldwide marketing at Disney+. In 2023, he became Chief Brand Officer in charge of the brand strategy, partnerships, and major events.

The promotion of Ayaz puts him on a short but increasingly long list of Pakistani senior executive representation in top management roles at large American companies. Disney believes the combined marketing system with Ayaz will make it more agile, brand-consistent, and more committed and engaged with audiences globally.
