Eid Ul Fitr is one of the most important and amazing festivals for Muslims, and in 2025, people in Pakistan. This year, the Eid holidays starts from March 29 (Saturday) and last until April 6 (Sunday) according to the government official holidays announcement.
Eid Ul Fitr marks the edge of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. The festival is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, which depends on the glimpse of the moon. Experts from the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council believe that the moon visible on March 30 and the government announced the Eid holidays according to this, which means Eid Starts on March 31 (Monday).
Normally, the government announces three official holidays for Eid. Since this year’s Eid may fall on Monday, the holidays starts from Monday to Wednesday (March 31 – April 2). But because the weekend comes right before Eid, Therefore, the holidays starts from March 29 (Saturday).

Punjab
Provincial government announced an extended holiday period, potentially from Saturday, March 29 to Sunday, April 6, 2025. This would provide residents with a nine-day break, combining the official Eid holidays with additional leave.
Sindh, (KPK), & Balochistan:
As of now, these provinces are follow the standard federal holiday schedule from March 30 to April 1, 2025 which is announced by government of Pakistan. However, provincial governments may announce additional holidays or adjustments closer to the date.
Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT):
The capital city typically aligns with the federal holiday schedule, holidays from March 29 to April 6, 2025, which is announced by government of Pakistan.
Gilgit-Baltistan & Azad Jammu(AJK):
These regions generally follow the federal government’s holiday announcements. Any deviations or additional holidays will likely be communicated by local authorities as the date approaches.
