The first beta of iOS 26.3 was released soon after the release of the iOS 26.2 to the public. This is unlike the earlier practices which involved downloading apps outside or complex work-arounds and all these occurrences are now embedded in the iOS making the process of platform switching much easier and enjoyable to the user.
Third-Party Wearables Notification Forwarding
Notification Forwarding is another feature that has been added in iOS 26.3, and third-party wearable devices can now receive notifications sent by an iPhone. Currently, it can only be used by the users of the European Union.
The option is activated in the Settings menu in the Notifications section, and the user can toggle the option of forwarding to their wearable keeping the option of which apps are authorized to send an alert.
Nowadays, the feature of forwarding notification only works on a single device. When an Apple Watch is already connected with the iPhone, sharing notifications with a third-party wearable will be disabled. This modification goes in line with the provisions of the Digital Markets Act by the European Union that focuses on enhancing interoperability and access to core iOS functionality.
Better Weather Wallpaper Customisation
Weather wallpaper is also optimized with iOS 26.3 Beta 1. The wallpaper has now got its own dedicated section in the lock screen customization menu, which is more convenient to the user as it is a preview and manageable weather based background.
Expected Release Timeline
The stable public release of the iOS 26.3 is anticipated to be launched by Apple in January after the beta testing.
