Iran Air has formally reported that it will initiate direct flight services to Pakistan later in this month and this will re-establish an essential air connection between the two close countries.
The airline states that the initial stage will be the weekly flight between Mashhad and Lahore which will commence October 29, 2025. This is the beginning of the normal air travel between Iran and Pakistan after several years and offers new possibilities in the areas of business, tourism, and cultural exchange.

The ambassador also said that the new service would attract more Iranian tourists to the beautiful Pakistani northern areas, historic places and cultural sites. Enhanced connectivity, he said, will not only promote tourism, but will also make people on both sides feel closer and know each other better.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has also been quite favorable to the introduction of direct flights between Tehran and Islamabad.
The chamber has described it as a significant move that will enhance economic and trade activities between Iran and Pakistan.
In this development, the two countries will find it easier and quicker to get to the destinations of their respective countries, thus saving time and money on traveling. Aviation analysts are of the opinion that such moves will aid in increasing people-to-people contact and aid regional cooperation in South and Central Asia.
This announcement by Iran Air is perceived to be a new beginning in Pakistan-Iran relations as it has the potential of boosting tourism, offering stronger business connections and facilitating cultural awareness between the two countries.
