As the Karachi matriculation board exams are set to begin on April 7, 2026, there have been extreme administrative challenges that have threatened the process. Grand Alliance of Private Schools Associations Sindh has officially requested delay of the exams stating the preparations are extremely incomplete and this would jeopardize the integrity of the process.
After an emergency session to assess the realities on the ground, the association pointed out a raft of grave logistical errors that has plunged students, parents and the educational institutions into a state of profound distress.
Karachi Matric Exams Administrative Challenges
The alliance identified a number of significant problems that render it practically impossible to carry out the exams in the set date:
Late Admit Cards: A large percentage of students have not been given their admit cards (roll number slips) and this has caused a lot of confusion only days before the examinations.
Incomplete Examination Centers: Several schools and students remain completely ignorant on where they will be taking the examinations since the board has not finalized and communicated on the lists of centers.
Incomplete Logistics: Basic administrative and logistical plans that are necessary to carry out a safe, and smooth examination are not completed.
Appeal for a Week-Long Delay
To the current piling up mayhem, the organization has desperately turned to Muhammad Ismail Rahu, Sindh Minister in charge of Universities and Boards. The alliance has asked the exams to be postponed at least by one week to enable the board to correct such administrative loopholes.
The alliance was threatened with a mere day before the scheduled start date that the preparations needed could not be made in such a short duration.
The Impact on Students
The magnitude of the disruption is huge. Approximately 400, 000 students will take Karachi matric exams this year.
The Grand Alliance emphasized that the decision to make the exams take place under the existing conditions would have a devastating impact on the realization of the fairness and transparency of the testing process. They have demanded urgent government action to sort out the logistical nightmare and provide a smooth, well-organized, stress-free examination environment to hundreds of thousands of candidates.
