The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has announced the date for MDCAT 2025. The test will be conducted on October 5 , 2025 across the country.
This was announced during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health Services Regulations and Coordination.
PMDC representatives also informed the committee that the MDCAT 2025 will take place on the same day in all provinces.
New Curriculum for MDCAT 2025
PMDC had earlier shared the revised curriculum for this year’s MDCAT. As per PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj, the updated syllabus now includes five subjects:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- English
- Logical Reasoning
The test will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and the total duration will be three hours. There will be no negative marking and the difficulty level of the questions will be as follows:
- 15% easy
- 70% moderate
- 15% difficult
To qualify for admission:
- At least 55% marks are needed for admission to medical colleges
- 50% marks are needed for admission to dental colleges
Dr. Rizwan Taj also stated that PMDC is currently working on building a question bank for the test. The new curriculum was designed after consultations with subject experts, education boards and universities.
