ISLAMABAD — NADRA has made it easier for people to register births and deaths without visiting local union councils. This new online service is part of Pakistan’s move towards a “Digital Pakistan.”
Now, through NADRA’s Pak ID mobile app, citizens can register births and deaths right from their homes. The information goes directly to the relevant union council, so there’s no need to visit in person.
At first, this service is available in three districts:
- Chakwal (71 union councils)
- Jhelum (44 union councils)
- Nankana Sahib (65 union councils)
NADRA plans to roll out this system across the whole country step by step, so everyone in Pakistan can benefit from easier digital registration.
Besides this, NADRA also launched the Pak-Identity portal for other online services like renewing ID cards, reprints, and making changes to existing cards. If you’re applying for your ID card for the first time, you still need to visit a NADRA center in person. Getting this first ID card is really important because it officially makes you part of the country and allows you to participate in things like voting and other national activities.
NADRA has tried to make it easier for everyone by providing many services online now, so renewing or updating your ID doesn’t have to be complicated. They’ve simplified the steps to help people get their identity registered without too much hassle.
Fee Structure for ID Cards:
Category | Processing Time | Fee (PKR) |
Executive | 7 Days | 2,500 |
Urgent | 15 Days | 1,500 |
Normal | 30 Days | 750 |
