Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced an 18-member squad to host the two-Test series against South Africa, which is a part of ICC World Test Championship 202527. The series will start on 12 October 2025 in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Shan Masood will remain a captain, with three uncapped players, Asif Afridi, Faisal Akram and Rohail Nazir being offered an opportunity. The team will be narrowed down prior to the onset of the first Test.
The current World Test Championship 202325 champions, South Africa will visit Pakistan where she will play two Tests, then three T20Is and three ODIs between the end of October and beginning of November.

Pre-Series Camp
The squad will begin training under red-ball head coach Azhar Mahmood along with National Cricket Academy (NCA) coaches. Players who recently participated in the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup will join the camp on 4 October. Training sessions will continue until 8 October.
The series between Pakistan and South Africa is going to be an interesting one and more so given the fact that there is fresh talent in the Pakistan team. The two-Test series will be a very critical test of the men of the reigning World Test Champions when they come into town as they seek to get a good start in the ICC World Test Championship 202527 cycle.
