The second stage of the Pink Scooty Scheme has been officially announced by the Government of Sindh to empower women by means of safe and cheap personal transportation. The project is a continuation of the first phase that was rolled out successfully in September that was met with massive response by women in Karachi and other cities.
What is the Sindh Pink Scooty Scheme?
The Pink Scooty Scheme is a transport initiative of women designed by the Sindh government to assist working women and students in travelling safely and on their own. With the scheme, eligible women are able to get scooters with subsidies once they have gone through the driving and safety training.
This project forms a part of more wide transport projects of Sindh like:
- People’s Bus Service
- Pink Bus Service
- Electric Bus Service
These programs aim to make public and personal transport safer and more accessible for all citizens, especially women.
