In the past, the practical marks were fully controlled by the center based examiners and this usually resulted in allegations of favoritism, recommendations, and preferential treatment.
To stem out this activity, Muzammil Mahmood, Chairman of the Task Force Committee for Boards, made it clear that only formal or oral practicals will not be acceptable. The main aim of revising these practical exams marking guidelines is to have marks given on purely merit basis with no external interference or prejudice in the examination centers.

To ensure fairness, the standard 30 marks allocated for practical examinations will now be strictly divided between two evaluating authorities.
The written answer sheets of the practical exams will no longer be checked at the centers. Instead, they will be sent directly to the respective education boards, where they will be evaluated through a secure, centralized marking process.
The examiners present at the centers will now have significantly restricted authority. They will only be allowed to award limited marks based strictly on the student’s viva (oral questions) and actual physical performance during the practical.
