A new and significant initiative has been introduced by the Punjab government which is known as the Punjab Mein Digital Program, which is specifically aimed to empower and support educated women in rural Punjab. The program will enable women to develop good digital skills to enable them work, earn and advance their careers without having to leave their homes. It is aimed at providing rural women with more opportunities, increasing their confidence and making them financially self reliant.
The Punjab Skills Development Fund in collaboration with the government departments is running this project under the leadership of Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz. With this program, women will receive professional training on various digital disciplines, which can assist them to begin freelancing, work remotely, online ventures and numerous other digital professions.
Among the largest benefits of the Punjab Mein Digital Program, it will be possible to note that the selected participants will receive a six-month structured training. They will also receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 5,000 during this period, hence they will not have to worry about money which means they will be continuing their education without having to worry about money. There are 2,000 seats and given the high interest there is only a short window of time when applications are open. The final date of application is January 25.
Applicants should be aged 21 to 40 years, have completed 16 years of education, and reside in rural Punjab to qualify. They will also be required to take an entry test to qualify. Application is easy as interested candidates can apply online using the official PSDF site.
