According to the forecast of the Met Office, the crescent would have great possibilities of being spotted on tomorrow, February 18, 2026, in the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Sindh and Balochistan.

Through its advice to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) provided some important astronomical information about the new moon. The department holds that the new moon came into the world on February 17 at 5:01 PM. The age of the moon is expected to pass 19 hours by evening of February 18 which is a satisfactory time to possibly be seen. Also, the crescent will be visible on the horizon still after a duration of about 35 minutes after the sunset, which will stand higher possibilities of being seen by the naked eye, assuming the weather is clear.

It was also predicted by the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) that there is a great chance that the Ramadan crescent will be seen on the evening of February 18.
