Redmi is getting ready to launch the new Note 15 Pro+, and recent leaks from China have revealed a big new feature. Redmi is adding satellite support to its phones for the first time, starting with the Note 15 Pro+ — a feature that’s usually limited to premium flagship devices.
This is a big step for Redmi, as it means mid-range users will also get access to satellite communication. It’s a bit unexpected to see Redmi bringing this feature to the Note series rather than the more high-end K series. But given how popular the Note lineup is, it’s understandable they’d launch it here first.
Also, just so there’s no confusion — all of this applies to the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ for now. We still don’t know if the global version will include satellite support, as there’s been no official word on it yet. Other expected features of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ include:
- A powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor
- A 1.5K resolution display with thin and even bezels on all sides
- A 50MP main camera
- A 50MP telephoto camera
- A large battery, expected to be between 7,000 and 7,999 mAh
This phone looks like it will be a major upgrade in Redmi’s mid-range lineup, especially with the new satellite connectivity feature that could help users stay connected even in areas with no mobile signal.
Let’s wait and see if these features make it to the global version of the phone when it officially launches.
