The Sindh government has now put its first-ever advertisement on the new Sindh Job Portal (SJP)- a web platform through which citizens can now apply to government jobs fully online.
A brief video instruction has also been put out to show the applicants, step by step, on how to do it.
Sindh Job Portal has been established to make the government hiring process just, transparent and convenient to all. It enables the candidates to take the recruitment tests online and in the event that an individual fails the test the first time, then he or she can repeat the test as many times as possible. The initial test would be free financed by the Sindh government. Examinations are conducted on a monthly basis with the outcomes given in real time.
All the essential documents of the applicants can be uploaded to the portal, including CNIC, domicile, and educational certificates. When a candidate passes the necessary test, he/she is allowed to apply for any government job that is available on the site.
All the government departments list their vacancies in the portal and as new positions become vacant the job listing will also be updated automatically. The advertisements of the job are conducted simultaneously in the newspapers and on the portal in order to notify everyone.
One of the key initiatives towards digital governance in the province was the Sindh Job Portal, which was designed by the Science and Information Technology Department and in collaboration with Sukkur IBA University. It guarantees paperless hiring in all the departments based on merit.
The portal was initially used to do jobs between grades BPS-5 and BPS-15 but currently accommodates all the grades of jobs that is why they have been termed one step shop both to the job seekers as well as the government offices. It is associated with the Screening Test Initiative that runs standardized tests in the recruitment process to save on costs and enhance fairness.
The site handles all the hiring functions including posting the vacancy and online applications to scheduling interviews, offering letters, and checking medical and police files. All of that occurs in digital form.
It has some of the most important features, and they are:
Artificial intelligence used to match applicants with jobs.
Both Urdu and English voice-enabled search.
Multilingual interface in Urdu, Sindhi and English.
Automatic checking by connection with the Health Department and Sindh Police.
To keep the applicants informed, SMS, email, and in-portal messages were used.
How to register
Users only have to create an account on the portal using their CNIC number and mobile number. Once they have verified their account through a one-time password (OTP), they can use their individual dashboard, upload documents and apply to vacancies. Everything can also be done online by the government departments such as posting jobs to give approval to an applicant and sending out the appointment letters.
The Sindh Job Portal is now available thus making it easier, quicker and more open than ever before to apply for a government job in Sindh.
