The Steering Committee of the Sindh Education Department has finally settled and published the 2026 Board Examination schedule, as well as the new academic year of Karachi and the rest of the province. It was arrived at in a high-profile meeting where Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah was in charge.
Academic Session and Syllabus Updates
The new 2026-27 academic year will start April 1, 2026.
As far as the curriculum is concerned, the committee resolved to hold back the Uniform Examination Syllabus. The updated syllabus will now be relevant to Class IX and X beginning the 2027 annual examinations where students and teachers will have more time to acclimate.
Vacation Schedule (Summer & Winter)
The Steering Committee has retained school holiday schedule:
Summer Vacations: June 1- July 31.
Winter Vacations: December 22 to December 31.
An idea to reform the winter holidays was debated but was later scrapped when members of Cambridge schools voted against the reformation on the grounds that they had to fit into the international academic schedules.
