    Pakistan Railways Announces 4 Special Trains for Eid Travel

    With the onset of the festive season, Pakistan Railways made the news of the day to the citizens who have plans of travelling to their hometowns. The railway administration has formally declared that four special trains will run during Eid in order to handle the large number of passengers that is expected to increase.

    All these supplementary services are aimed at making it easy to travel between the large cities and hence thousands of individuals will celebrate the holidays with their families without any transportation challenges. The following is the full program and route map of the next Eid travel season.

    Complete Schedule and Routes for Eid Special Trains

    The special trains will start as per the official spokesperson of Pakistan Railways starting March 16. The following is the time schedule that would enable you to plan your trip:

    First Special Train (March16): This train leaves Lahore bound to Karachi. It is a train that will support passengers on the route with major destinations in Okara, Sahiwal, and Khanewal.

    Second Special Train (March 17): Leaves Quetta at 5.00pm and bound to Rawalpindi. This route will include key junctions with stops in Sukkur, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanewal and Lahore.

    Third Special Train (March 17): Leaves Karachi and heads towards Peshawar. This service will accommodate the high number of passengers who would be travelling between the southern port city with the North.

    Special Train (Train No March 18): Karachi to Lahore. This will also be the last special train of the first Eid period and it will help relieve the rush hour on one of the busiest trainways in the country.

    Why Pakistan Railways is Operating Additional Trains

    Travelling around during the Eid is a tradition in Pakistan, which can lead to overbooked trains and buses of the regular ones. In response, Pakistan Railways occasionally adds special trains on major public holidays.The main purpose of these extra train services is to handle the urge of the rise in passenger traffic in a strategic manner, relieve the tremendous burden on the normal train services and offer an alternative means of safe and comfortable travel to the families travelling back home to enjoy the festival.
