The President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was given a warm and ceremonial welcome by the Government of Pakistan when he paid his first official visit to Pakistan. To commemorate the event, a special welcome song was composed with the refrain of Ahlan wa Sahlan, Marhaba and this was just an expression of goodwill, affection and hospitality of Pakistani people.
Pakistan Air Force JF-17 fighter jets escorted the aircraft of president Al Nahyan when it entered the airspace of Pakistan. He was welcomed by the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir as well as other senior cabinet members and officials on arrival at Nur Khan Airbase. The ceremonial welcoming included a 21 gun salute, guard of honour, national anthems and traditional performances and children handed flowers and flew flags of the two countries.
