Pakistan’s passport has seen a major improvement in global standing by now ranking at the 100th position in the Henley Passport Index 2025. This is a big step up from its 113th spot in 2021 and means Pakistani citizens can now travel to 32 countries either visa free or with a visa on arrival.
Director General of Immigration and Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi praised this progress and credited the support of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Interior Secretary for helping make this possible.
He stated that the new high tech e passports now equipped with contactless NFC chips follow the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standards.
