Spotify has officially integrated with ChatGPT and will now be able to give people personalized playlists and song suggestions right in their conversations, which is a move that changes the way people experience music. This feature was announced on October 7, 2025, and it has been launched in 145 countries, and is offered to Free and Premium users on both web and mobile (iOS and Android).
This is because the integration allows any chatter using ChatGPT to now request music recommendations based on mood, genre, or artist, and receive a Spotify playlist link on which to listen instantly.
For instance, typing “create a chill study playlist” or “recommend Pakistani pop songs” will prompt ChatGPT to generate a personalized selection, which users can play in the Spotify app.

According to Spotify’s official statement, this partnership aims to make music discovery conversational and intuitive. “Spotify users can now connect their accounts to ChatGPT and get tailored recommendations, request playlists by mood, genre, or artist, and tap to listen directly in the Spotify app,” the company noted.
Spotify SVP and Global Head of Consumer Experience Sten Garmark emphasized that the move is in line with the mission of the company to be everywhere you are. He said, It brings Spotify into ChatGPT and allows us to build a new formidable method of helping fans engage with artists and creators in a conversational way, whenever they have a creative idea.
Notably, Spotify assured artists that their music and content will not be subject to risk, and no information will be given to OpenAI to train them.
This innovation follows Spotify’s continuous expansion across platforms — from smart TVs and cars to smart home devices — and now, AI chat assistants. Since its launch in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in 2021, Spotify has become one of South Asia’s favorite streaming services, and this integration marks another leap forward in merging AI with everyday music discovery.
