The statement, released through social media on October 31, 2025, is a milestone in the continuous changes of reforms in academic assessment that have been carried out by the Punjab government to eliminate stress among students.
According to Minister Hayat, Grade 8 Assessment Exams will be done in four subjects in a period of four days. The given structured format is intended to guarantee a focused preparation and an unbiased examination, when students have enough time to prove their knowledge without numerous tests on the same day.
One of the most important points of the announcement is the release of the smart syllabus of Grade 8 and Grade 11 that will be released next week. This is done after the previous implementation of condensed syllabus in Grades 9 and 10 which are already posted in the official websites of all Punjab education boards and the School Education Department (SED).
