    Chia seeds and basil seeds are easily confused as both of them swell in water and are consumed in healthy drinks and weight-loss diets. However, they are not the same. They vary in origin, nutritional content, health plus and daily uses. The difference will assist you in selecting seed that is right for your health requirements.

    What Are Chia Seeds?

    Chia seeds are the product of Salvia hispanica a native shrub of South American and Central American root. They are considered a super food as they contain plenty of fiber, omega -3 fatty acids and protein. Chia seeds are normally taken in smoothies, puddings, oats and baked food.

    What Are Basil Seeds?

    The seeds of basil plants (Ocuming basilicum) are called basil seeds or sabja seeds or tukhm-e-malanga. They are common in beverages and desserts in south Asia. It has been reported that the Basil seeds are particularly famous during the summer period because of its coolness and the charm it has on the digestive system.

    Which is Better for Digestion?

    Basil seeds are more digestible as they will cool the stomach, make it less acidic and relieve constipation. Chia seeds are also beneficial to the digestion process but when consumed in large amounts may lead to bloating.

    How to Use Them Safely
