In line with the Government of Pakistan’s vision for a cashless economy, the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has officially integrated its payment infrastructure with RAAST. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has developed RAAST, the country’s top instant digital payment system. This integration is going to enable millions of electricity consumers to pay their electricity bills in a safe and secure way from their smartphones in Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh and other adjoining areas. The stand-out advantage of this feature is that it enables electronic transactions without any inconvenience charges or hidden service fees.
Unlike conventional third-party mobile applications or commercial banking channels that charge an Inter-Bank Funds Transfer (IBFT) fee, RAAST works on a completely cost-free financial inclusion model.
Strategic Advantages of Paying Your FESCO Bill Via RAAST
Transitioning to SBP’s instant settlement gateway introduces key systemic improvements over traditional physical or digital payment options:
Instant Billing Reconciliation: Payments executed via RAAST are credited and processed in real-time directly within FESCO’s billing ledger. This eliminates the typical 48-hour commercial processing delay and prevents accidental power disconnections.
Zero Service Surcharges: The infrastructure is intentionally structured to be 100% free of transaction fees for the consumer, maximizing monthly savings.
Multi-Platform Access: You can utilize any authorized mobile banking application, Microfinance Bank app, or Electronic Money Institution (EMI) wallet operating in Pakistan.
Unified Billing Options: Beyond standard monthly consumer bills, the RAAST engine supports instant settlement for institutional demand notices, detection bills, and commercial connections.
Step-by-Step Guide to Pay Your FESCO Bill Online Via RAAST
FESCO consumers can clear their outstanding payments through two user-friendly digital methodologies: a manual reference number entry or a smart QR code scan.
Method A: Payment via the Instant QR Code Scan
Locate the QR Code: Grab your physical monthly FESCO electricity bill and find the specialized RAAST QR code printed clearly on the layout.
Open Your Banking App: Launch your preferred mobile banking app (such as Allied Bank, Meezan Bank, or HBL) or digital wallet.
Activate the Scanner: Tap on the “Scan to Pay” or “Raast QR” icon located on the app dashboard.
Authorize the Amount: Point your camera at the bill’s QR code. The app will immediately fetch your exact current billing amount, due date, and consumer name. Review the parameters and tap Confirm Payment to settle the dues instantly.
Method B: Manual Payment via Bill Management
Log in securely to your mobile financial application and navigate directly to the Bill Payments or Utility Bills management module.
In the core utility category, select “Electricity” and from the list of public distribution corporations, select “FESCO.
Write your own FESCO Reference Number (printed on the top left corner of the paper document) carefully, without using any spaces or hyphens.
If asked to choose a settlement network or gateway preference, choose “Pay via RAAST”, to start a free transaction.
Enter the One-Time PIN (OTP) sent to your registered cell phone to validate the security handshake. After approval, keep a copy of the electronic receipt on your computer for your personal records.
