Pakistan’s geopolitical and diplomatic approach of regional integration, economic stability and multi-lateral cooperation has been reinforced. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has made it clear that Pakistan is fully geared to successfully host the SCO meetings and provide the highest international standards in the organization and arrangements.
The Deputy Prime Minister marked the broader agenda of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Pakistan next year in a high-level strategic review session in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad. The administration sees the upcoming gathering as an important platform for enhancing the diplomatic relations with central Eurasian powers, opening up transit trade and demonstrating Pakistan’s growing strategic stability.
Inter-Institutional Coordination and Diplomatic Execution
A primary objective established during the meeting was the absolute necessity of fluid operational synchronization across different state organs. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar put forward the importance of close and seamless coordination among all concerned institutions to ensure that the complex proceedings of the SCO are implemented in a smooth and well-organized manner that will result in high success rates.
The ministerial directive specifies some operational tracks:
Unified Command Protocol: Creating a unified protocol between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior and law enforcement agencies to eliminate administrative obstacles.
Realized Diplomatic Protocol: Organised dedicated coordination clusters to receive, secure transit and to host VVIPs from foreign heads of state, international delegations and international media houses.
Digital Integration: Activating automated data systems and secure electronic entry tracking to handle border compliance and delegate processing seamlessly.

Infrastructure Overhauls and the CDA Capital Development Roadmap
To match the high standards required for an international summit, the federal government is putting substantial effort into upgrading the infrastructure of the capital city. The Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) provided a comprehensive briefing during the session, outlining the rapid progress achieved across various development, security alignment, and structural infrastructure projects.
The capital infrastructure update includes the rapid remodeling of VIP transit routes, expansion of roads leading to the diplomatic enclave, and modern technical renovations of primary convention centers. The venues are equipped with top-tier cybersecurity networks and secure digital communication infrastructure to ensure zero-error administrative processing during the summit meetings.
Strategic Significance and the Final Execution Deadline
Concluding the comprehensive review, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar expressed his overall satisfaction with the structural preparations currently underway across both civil and security departments. However, to avoid any possibility of administrative delay, he directed all relevant stakeholders and executing agencies to guarantee the timely completion of all remaining arrangements.
The federal cabinet maintains that hosting the SCO proceedings represents a cornerstone achievement for Pakistan’s foreign policy, serving as a powerful platform to deepen strategic alignment and cross-border connectivity with China, Russia, and Central Asian Republics. All involved departments have been instructed to treat the project as a critical national priority.
