Security forces eliminated 10 Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants in an operation after they thwarted a planned attack on the Customs House at Ziarat Cross in Pishin district of Balochistan during the night between 31 August & 1 September 2026.
The operation proved costly for the security forces, as 6 people died in the operation, among them two officers and one person from the Customs House, ISPR reported.
Ziarat Cross Attack
In a statement released by the military, the Taliban launched an assault to break into the Customs House of Ziarat Cross along the N-50 National Highway.
Security officials were called to respond to the attack and fought off the militants in a fierce gunfight. The army reported the death of ten militants, and even the running ones were chased and sustained injuries.
This attack was said to target the functioning of customs operations in the area, and ISPR stated that the attack was a terror crime nexus to stop authorities from doing their jobs and commit crimes in the region.
Six Personnel Martyred in the Operation
A total of six personnel were martyred during the fighting, which included two officers and one government official of the Customs Department.
These deaths were witnessed when the security officials were trying to resist the attack and safeguard the Customs building.
The military stated that sanitization operations were carried out in the vicinity to locate the remaining militants.
21 Terrorists Killed in Balochistan
The operation code-named Ziarat Cross was one of the two significant security operations that took place in Balochistan during the night.
Security officials killed another 11 militants in the Nokcha region of Chagai district for having set up a checkpoint on the N-40 Quetta-Taftan Highway to extort money from the commuters. They seized weapons, ammunition, and explosives as well, as confirmed by ISPR.
Thus, the total number of dead terrorists stood at 21 in the two operations, whereas six members of the security forces lost their lives.
