The government has announced a new deadline for the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme (PMLS) Phase-IV. Students now have time until June 1, 2025 to register and apply for a free laptop. This extension from the previous deadline of May 20 has opened another chance for those who missed out earlier.
Eligibility Criteria for PM Laptop Scheme 2025
To apply for this scheme students must fulfill the following conditions:
- Must be currently enrolled in a public sector university or higher education institute.
- Can be in Bachelors (4 or 5 years), Masters, MS/MPhil or PhD programs.
- Must have minimum 2.80 CGPA or 60% marks in the latest academic record.
- First year students should provide their HSSC/intermediate results.
- MS/MPhil/PhD students in first semester must submit the transcript of their last degree.
Students who have already graduated are not eligible even if they applied earlier during their enrollment.
Quota Based Distribution for PM Laptop Scheme 2025
- 18% quota is reserved for students from Balochistan.
- 5% quota is allocated for distance learning students, which includes:
- 2.5% for Virtual University
- 2.5% for Allama Iqbal Open University
- 2.5% for Virtual University
Laptops will be awarded based on merit within each department and degree program.
How to Apply for PM Laptop Scheme 2025
The application process is simple and fully online. Here is how students can apply:
- Visit the official website: www.pmyp.gov.pk
- Or download and register through the Digital Youth Hub (DYH) mobile app.
- Fill out the registration form with accurate academic and personal details.
- Upload the required documents as per your degree level.
- Submit your application before the June 1, 2025 deadline.
After the deadline:
- A provisional merit list will be published on the website.
- Students will get 15 days to file any complaints or corrections.
- The final merit list will be released after reviewing objections.
