A high level official Pakistani delegation supervised by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reached Washington after completing a two day visit to the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This visit is part of diplomatic efforts to present its viewpoint on increasing tensions with India and counter India lobbying efforts in the U.S.
The delegation which included senior politicians and diplomats met with top UN officials, ambassadors, media, think tanks and the Pakistani American community. They highlighted alleged violations of international law by India in Kashmir including attacks on civilians and rejected Indian claims about the April 22 incident in occupied Kashmir as baseless.

The delegation also raised concerns over unilateral actions of India on the Indus Waters Treaty. They also urged international support to revive it and called for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in line with UN resolutions.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed the need for cooperation over conflict and suggested that collaboration between Pakistan ISI and India RAW could significantly reduce terrorism. He also warned that the risk of conflict remains high in South Asia despite a recent ceasefire which he credited to U.S. mediation including the efforts of President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar praised the diplomatic efforts of Pakistan during recent tensions. He also claimed that regional dominance of India had been challenged while peaceful and firm diplomacy of Pakistan was being internationally recognized.
